HISTORY
|
Founded in 1971, DCAK-MSA Architecture is an award winning architectural, planning and construction management firm recognized for design excellence and innovation. Led by five Principals, our firm has a staff of 25 professionals with diverse backgrounds and experience.
With LEED certified professionals, we will incorporate energy efficiency, environmental sensitivity, and “green” practices when requested by our clients. The earliest work of the firm included architecture and engineering for many of the original “industrial parks” that dotted the northeast: Vanderbilt Industrial Park in Hauppauge, NY, Airport International Plaza in Islip, NY, and Heller Industrial park in Edison, NJ. In the 70’s and 80’s the work of the firm expanded to include design and development of numerous local and regional shopping centers that predated the malls and life style centers we know today. Working with development partners of Interstate Properties (the forerunner of Vornado Realty Trust) and many other prominent developers, over 10 million square feet were constructed. At the same time, the firm expanded into multi-family residential design, and municipal facility design, and ecclessiastical design throughout the tri-state area. The next decade marked the expansion into educational, and postal facilities, while SAVIK & MURRAY brand was establishing a client base of numerous Towns, Villages and Counties on Long Island, as well as NYS DOT. The firm designed many new churches and synagogues, parish centers and parochial schools, hundreds of post offices, and over 700 million dollars worth of residential construction. SAVIK & MURRAY specialized in airport design, marine on-shore infrastructure and major federal or state funded civil engineering projects. The new millennium marked active pursuit of construction management, design-build services, and development opportunities, coupled with a gradual transition to a new generation of professionals in our Rockland and Suffolk County offices. |
