Church of the Holy Cross LOCATION New York, NY SIZE 8,000 square feet
he 1867 Church of the Holy Cross is the oldest remaining structure on 42nd Street. With the guidance of Father Peter Colapietro, our companies provided design and construction management services for the complete restoration of the building. The restoration originally estimated at $16 million, was completed within the allotted $5.85 million budget. The restoration included all exterior surfaces and materials including the 150 foot high copper dome, the bell towers, and wood-framed stained glass windows, which required extensive reconstruction. The interior finishes and furnishings throughout the church were fully restored, including the paintings. Our artists created new decorative stencils to compliment the architecture of the church, and our architects designed the new lighting and building systems.
