Tom served for 24 years as Principal of Savik & Murray LLP, one of the top engineering firms on Long Island. In this leadership role he assisted the aviation community, local governments, municipal and private clients with work ranging from airport design, bulkhead design, roadway improvements and site development.
Notable Projects: Fairchild/Republic Airport Property - Farmingdale, New York. Development of a 91-acre site in Farmingdale for both industrial and commercial/retail use. The project involved the inventory and analysis of all structures on the property (1.8 million square feet) for demolition, renovation costs & potential rehabilitation costs for future private development of this property. Developed the site plan envelope for the property involving the review of issues ranging from the airport's clear zone easement requirements to environmental studies. The project also involves traffic studies and intersection improvements such as traffic signalization along NYS Route 110 and New Highway and the realignment of Conklin Street. Ultimate Game Sports - Central Islip, NY. Development of a 32 acre site for an indoor and outdoor recreational complex including five (5) outdoor fields, bleachers, concessions, locker rooms, etc. and a 275,000± SF indoor sports complex housing ten (10) basketball courts, daycare facility, pro shop, game room and a combination soccer/lacrosse/baseball field. The site includes all new underground utilities and 870 parking stalls. Gabreski Airport Pavement Rehabilitation of Runway 15-33 - Westhampton Beach, New York. Project includes evaluating the existing conditions of Runway 15-33 using state of the art geotechnical procedures, design of a new pavement section to support the present and future airport loadings and development of several rehabilitation methods to most economically rehab the runway.
