St. Joseph Parish Center LOCATION West Orange, NJ SIZE 8,000 square feet
On the grounds of St. Joseph’s parish stood their church and school but additional facilities were needed. The clergy was lacking office and meeting space required to effectively operate the church facilities. As for the school, a gymnasium was badly needed to provide the students with space for athletic activities and assemblies.
To remedy the situation, the new building will address both these needs and unify St. Josephs’ campus. The building will be built between the current church and school and will contain the gym, offices and a meeting room. Not only will the addition draw on surrounding buildings to fit into its context, but it will also provide hallways to connect all three buildings.
